Living right next to the sea and the horizon
As far north as you can go on Åland, the autonomous group of islands tucked away between Sweden and Finland in the Baltic Sea, here you will find Havsvidden Resort. This leisure complex which hosts a hotel, restaurant, bar and guest harbour was created in the late ’80s by the Åland legendary entrepreneur Torvald “Thusse” Eriksson and his wife Birgitta. The idea was to offer guests and visitors a place where body and soul could relax in a unique environment inspired by the anthroposophical spirit of Rudolf Steiner. Thusse and Birgitta have since long left their creation but we try to keep their passion alive through our company Havsvidden AB.
During the 2000s Havsvidden AB expanded its property portfolio with so-called Cliff houses and Suite houses which are spectacular villas with one to three bedrooms located on the cliffs with an outstanding sea view. Havsvidden Resort, which sprang from the original small hotel complex, can today accommodate up to 150 guests for conferences, events, celebrating birthdays and weddings or just having a good relaxing time. Here you will find everything you could possibly want, a restaurant, bar, lounge, meeting rooms, bathhouse with swimming pool and sauna and northern Åland’s only guest harbour with fuelling facilities.
This unique resort is now expanding with 17 hotel apartments in two blocks that blend well into the landscape. Each apartment will have a stunning sea view through large panoramic windows. Sea views can also be enjoyed from the sauna as well as from the terrace, the jacuzzi and the glazed conservatory. The first block is completed and sold out. For sale are now apartments of one or two bedrooms in the second block, which are expected to be ready for occupancy in the summer of 2023. The form of ownership is called Bostads Aktie Bolag (BAB). This is a common model of owning properties in Finland. The owners possess shares related to a specific property, in this case a dedicated apartment. This model allows non-Finnish citizens to own properties on Åland island where rules are generally strict with foreign ownership.
An apartment at Havsvidden Living will not only bring income to its owner when rented out through the resort, it will also give the owner the luxury of arriving to a warm and welcoming apartment, cleaned and ready for use. The beds are already made, the owner can just unlock the door, step inside and enjoy a cozy home.
